Character dev - stage 1

This is the first run of the character types that I'm developing.  This four are the ones that passed stage 1 so lets the iterations begin! =D

Yeah this is a bit embarrassing.  I was cleaning through one of my older folders and I found this old sketching exercise that I did back in 2009 (Image 1)

 Rules:

• 15 min
• not allowed to use erasing
• no references allowed
• Monochromatic
• Opacity on brush allowed

Image 1(old)

I think with the first one I used a 50% opacity on my round brush.  So to compare to how I am now, I redid the exercise to compare. (Below: Image 2)

I also used a 50% opacity and  tried to keep it as close as I can with each other.  I didn't use up all 15mins and did some tweaking to the angle and kept to a lighter shade.  Still lots of room for more improvements!

I think revisiting old sketches are always fun and you can really feel the difference not only with technique but also the familiarity you have with your working tools.  =)

Entering Character Dev stage

So for a good handful of posting will mainly be for Character Development and a few fan arts here and there.  Stay tune! =)

Chibify-ing!

From all the crazy work fun I was commissioned by an ex-cowoker to draw a portrait of him. Supposedly going to look like how it will fit in Draw Some but then situation changed and I was allowed all the colors that I want! So here it is!

Chibified version of Decktonic.

Agimat's Flip Rider Fan Art Contest!

Last month I've entered a fan art contest for Agimat's Flip Riders. It is an iOS game where you get to chose different riders with different stats for you to have the ultimate flipping fun! Okay, enough of the summary.

But yes, after submission and one week of fan votes, I have taken home the prize! =D

I want to specially thanks all my friends that have spread the word on this contest and for all those that have voted. Also to those that have supported the other artists' work. As artists, we really enjoy it when there are someone out there that appreciate our works, on behalf of them, we all share the thanks to make this a good sport for us all =)

Thank you Agimat for holding this for where I have met new friends =)
