sailor senshi fanart

well, I was cleaning my computer and I found this picture.

This is a fan art that I did of Aino Minako from Sailormoon and lead character from Sailor V. Granted that this was drawn back in November I still felt like sharing. I drew this after b-ville and I saw this website mainly for Anime fanarts and saw that the girls that created the site did nothing but trace screen shots. So during my afternoon tea outing with my mom, I thought that I'll give it a try to see how much closer to the original Naoko's art I can do free hand. The drawing is done with a black micron pen on a piece of napkin. I don't think that I lost my touch in drawing fan art but of course nothing is better than the original artist.

To this day Sailormoon is still my idol!

So much for finding a new hobby..

My roomie said that I should find a new hobby aside from drawing since all I do is sit in front of my comp with my Wacom. If I'm not sitting at the computer I have my sketchbook with me and my Cutie Puppy pencil box. So I went to see what I can do but in turn I did this:

So much for finding a new hobby!

(Oh this is the back from a 2009 calendar that I didn't like the pictures of, it's a collection of all the past MHK contestants )

test samples for new gig

These are two sample artworks that I had to create for a freelance job.  I do hope that I will get it.

cool, I can draw.

Last night before bed I found a couple of job postings of craiglists. Today I decided to test out my luck and I got one reply for a children's illustration book. It's really motivating when I got the email. I still have to do 2 "test" illustrations before the writer decides on the artist he is going ot use. Hopefully I will be able to get it. Pay or not, it's just nice to have this chance.

GREAT NEWS: My illustration got accepted for the Alluring Lines book! And I just found out that they extended the deadline, so maybe I will be able to create more work!

11/30/08 - Alluring lines

So all the slaving that I did for the past 4 days finally paid off. =D

This is my submission to my friend's Alluring Line book.  I hope it will get selected.

11/20/08 - FB reply

Well, I got a reply from the person on FB and he sent me a link to his scripts.  Before I replied him, I looked at the script and thought about my scheduling.  The weird thing is, when I signed in FB and want to reply his mail, the link is no longer available and the web link that he previously sent me is a parked domain.  Thank goodness, that I didn't jump straight into it.

websie maintaince

Convention season is over for our group. Now I finally have some time to work on my site a bit. There's no new artwork at all but I am going to slowly transition the sections.

One the side note: Someone on FB is looking for comic artists to draw his webcomic pitch. I sent him my summer comic, maybe he'll like my style. It never hurts to find new ways to get exposer.

11/12/08 - usagi v.1 & v.2

Before and after. This is a sketch and color study for my a.i.w. project. Even though it's only a study, I like the perspective and concept enough that I think I will fully render this illustration. It still needs A LOT of work but hopefully I can make it up to par.

Halloween contribution

One member from an online blog that I am a partially active member of, started a game on it. She posted a picture of a zombie girl and asked everyone to join in the fun. This is my contribution. Well...can't expect much for a quickie sketch. lolz

I talked to Tess and now it will be a beagle =D

We sort of swapped our projects. Earlier I mentioned that she will be my writer for my 3 volume comic. While I gave her the script she also gave me her's which I will also be doing the artwork for the her new comic submission for the anthology of GroundUp studio releasing 2009.

My friend asked me if I will ever draw Yuri art since we always bump into the Yuri Con organizers all the time. I responded, I do not want Yuri being the break in the industry for me.  I will test the water but not actively.

The work that will get me recognized will be Honey Way. Tess and I will definitely make it happen. First step is Alice and Alluring Lines with Mr. Lofton.

10/27/08 - yay puppies!

Totally awesome!

I went down to my friends' signing for their new release comic and also to give her the summary of my comic Honey Way. We're going to make this happen! T is going to be my writer and she also proposed another project for the time being. I'm going to be the artist for her comic short. A lot of drawing for me, I just hope my hand doesn't cramp.

10/27/08 - Twitter VS Blogger

It's actually hard to set up the mobile device for posting. Twitter is so much easier. I was hoping to set it up to make posting any artwork easier but then again. I still do not understand my phone that well. It's alright since I'll be getting a new one soon, hopefully then the emailing function would be better.

10/22/08 - Welcome!

Well, after a long month of personal blogging on my supposed "Art Blog", I had to stop and categorize it once again.

Now introducing the all NEW, NONE emo-ness, drama FREE....

Yes, that's right. This blog will have absolutely nothing except art by yours truly. Only problem for now. There will not be any posted works for the next few days, weeks, maybe months (hope not). That is, until I finally settle in and set up the new work station.
